I have created this blog as a way to keep track of and encourage my forward momentum.To set goals and complete them within a reasonable time frame. I thought what better way than with Herakles as my guide.
Here is a man who, according to myth, killed his family and was then given twelve tasks, or labors if you will, to complete with the hope of redemption, not for his own sake, but for the sake of those closest to him.
I did not actually kill my family, and yet in a sense, I did. I lost my wife and daughters due to being a poor excuse for a husband, provider and protector.
There is nothing that has befallen me, or that I possess or do not possess for that matter, for good or for ill that I didn’t earn and deserve.
I only now wish that the fall-out of my poor choices in life did not affect the ones that were closest to me, the ones who loved and trusted me, the ones in that moment of need, I failed.
As repugnant as this may sound to whomever reads these words, I can assure you the echo and weight of the truth written therein reverberates a hundredfold in my own heart.
With that said; my journey begins!
